FYI, I'm a resident of Sunalta that has been organizing resident-driven community building experiences since May 2020 as a volunteer (not paid)... I do it as part of my giving back to community :)
By participating in this community building experience, you are not eligible to register for the next two community building experiences that I offer at Sunalta Heritage Hall (or Community Hub).
This is a new rule I'm implementing to ensure as many people to enjoy the "high value" of connection, collaboration, and growth that these community building experiences offer... and of course the content (whether it be crafting, food related, wellness related, woodworking, Indigenous culture, etc).
This rule applies to 2026.

Upcycled packaging transforms waste materials into new, higher-value, or more functional packaging, reducing landfill waste and reliance on virgin materials. Unlike traditional recycling, this process often creates premium, creative solutions from items you normally throw away.
In this 2-hour community building experience, you'll be guided by Jasmine Chan (a local upcycler), to upcycle your own used packaging into two upcycled products:

- Pouch Bag(s)
- Origami Flower Art
Bring your own recycled packaging material (for example, packaging from your favourite food product...like chips, instant noodles, etc), we'll supply the other materials (lining, zipper, glue).
Light refreshments will also be offered (bring your own if you have special dietary or faith-based needs)
- 16yrs old + - One Registration per Household
- Must Register Online
- Limited Spots (so only register yourself)
- Registered Spots not Transferable
- No Pets or Guests
